What To Expect
During Your Dental Implant Procedure
Initial Consultation & Personalized Treatment Plan
Your dental implant journey begins with an initial consultation, where our experienced dentists conduct a comprehensive evaluation of your oral health. This includes a thorough dental examination and diagnostic imaging using advanced technology such as Cone Beam CT (CBCT) scans. During this appointment, we’ll assess your jawbone density, gum health, and overall suitability for dental implants. Based on this evaluation, we develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs, outlining the procedure steps, timeline, and any preparatory treatments required, such as bone grafting or tooth extractions.
Surgical Placement of the Dental Implant
We ensure your comfort by administering local anesthesia, and sedation options are available if you prefer additional relaxation. Our dentists utilize precise surgical techniques and guided implant technology to position the titanium implant accurately within the bone. The procedure is performed in our state-of-the-art facility, adhering to strict safety and sterilization protocols. After the implant is placed, a healing cap may be positioned over it to protect the implant during the healing process. You will receive detailed post-operative instructions to promote healing and minimize discomfort.
Healing, Osseointegration & Restoration Placement
Following the implant placement, a healing period of several months is necessary to allow the implant to fuse with the jawbone in a process called osseointegration. Once osseointegration is complete, we proceed with the placement of the abutment, a small connector piece that attaches to the implant. Impressions of your mouth are taken using our iTero® Element Scanner to fabricate your custom crown, bridge, or denture. Finally, your custom-made restoration is securely attached to the abutment, completing your dental implant treatment. The result is a natural-looking and fully functional tooth that blends seamlessly with your existing teeth.
